NEIL LENNON reckons that Celtic can score more goals than they currently are, after having watched the team win at both Tynecastle and Easter Road.
Here’s a video clip of Lenny’s interview on Celtic TV…
Asked by Gerry McCulloch if he’s seen any areas over those two games where he thinks the team can improve the new Celtic Manager was clear in his thoughts.
“I think we can score more goals,” Lenny stated. “I think we can get the ball forward a little bit quicker. We have got great pace in wide areas and through the middle in an attacking sense and I’d like us to utilise that a little bit quicker if we can.
“But I understand if teams like Hibs for example on Saturday, and even Hearts when they went down to ten men, they get back into shape very early and sometimes you can’t move the ball quickly and then it requires a little bit of patience and probing.
“Maybe just varying the attacks a little bit more when we get into the final third but you can’t have everything. The lads have been absolutely fantastic this season, the previous two seasons and certainly in my tenure , even though it’s embryonic, they have played great.”
And Lenny is looking for an a fast start against Derek McInnes’ side tomorrow afternoon at Celtic Park, his first home match since replacing Brendan Rodgers at the start of last week.
“It’d be great if we could score early and make Aberdeen come out a little bit more, but predominantly they’re set up to be hard to beat,” he said.
