Johnston is working his way back from injury having suffered from a hamstring injury in the UCL Playoff first leg against Kairat. Johnston was a big miss given his attacking qualities. However, it is hoped that he will be back sooner than expected.
The defender confirmed that he was doing well in his recovery but still had a way to go in order to get himself back in the pitch. Johnston’s deputy Tony Ralston is currently injured with Colby Donovan coming in to cover.
Celtic will be keen to get Johnston back into the team as he is a key figure in the squad. Brendan relies heavily upon the fullback and will want to make sure that he is back to full fitness as soon as possible.
