MIKAEL LUSTIG is a major doubt for Celtic’s short trip to Paisley on Friday evening after picking up an injury in Sweden’s dramatic 3-2 defeat to Turkey in the UEFA Nations match in Stockholm on Monday evening.

The Celtic star was concerned about an injury at half-time, but was determined to carry on until he was forced to come off in the 79th minute and after that it all went horribly wrong for the Swedes.

They led 2-1 until the 88th minute, but were shocked by two late goals from Emre Akbaba.

“I already knew it at half time. It started to cramp and I knew already that it would only take a while,” Lustig admitted and was then asked if it was foolish to remain on the park while carrying the injury.

“Well, we’ll see. Hopefully, I wake up tomorrow and everything is fine. Hard to say now. Had it been a training match I would not have played.

“But I trained two days before and it felt so good.”

With Cristian Gamboa away on his further afield international travels this week, Celtic are a little short in the right back slot ahead of the trip to play St Mirren.
