It was a blow, but we’re over it, Celtic’s focus is on winning trophies

It was a blow, but we’re over it. Celtic just continue to concentrate on what we do best, and that’s winning trophies…

There seems to be a belief amongst theRangers supporters that failure to clinch 10 titles in a row back in 2021 is something of a demon that Celtic supporters can’t shake off.

According to some it has ‘ruined’ us, and we will never ever get over it. That it somehow occupies our everyday thoughts. It’s them that goes on about title 55 when they never once talked about 54, or 53, or 52 etc

Failure to do 10IAR was a big disappointment at the time, yes, it would have been great to yet again make some history by beating one of our very own illustrious records, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. Like Rangers we equalled the record first set by Jock Stein’s side in the mid 1970s.

We just weren’t good enough that particular season, while theRangers clicked and produced some good form, aided by the absence of their supporters and fully deserved their first ever title win.

Celtic couldn’t have any complaints, and as disappointing as it was to blow the chance of making history, we put it firmly behind us, dusted ourselves down and went from strength to strength, winning the next three titles.  Their title win gave us Ange Postecoglou and led onto Brendan Rodgers coming back. We’ve won two Scottish Cups, two League Cups and three league titles since so no-one at Celtic even bothers about what happened in the Covid season.

It’s a simple as this,  we have won seven out of the nine available trophies as we added to our ever growing honours list to further establish ourselves as the best side in the country.

Was failing to do ten in a row disappointing? Yes, but does it eat away at us?  No it doesn’t, we just get on with doing what we do best, and that’s winning honours. We leave the what ifs and regrets to the sides who aren’t as successful as Celtic.

About Author

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

  1. Covid and lennon temper and some players couldn’t man up to criticism plus no supporters which has been proved rangers can’t handle pressure of supporters the bottle it

  2. I have no doubt that we will do 10, 11 and 12 in a row, regardless of any Celtic plc complicity.
We can no longer save the current incarnation across the Clyde from footballing, let alone financial, oblivion. Not this time.
The CFC board can try to shackle us as much as they wish, to prop up their fav, bigoted brand, duopoly. This time, however, UEFA, AND, the ineptitude of both football club’s boards will not be able to conspire a premiership for them in the next 15 years.
The challenge will come from Aberdeen or Edinburgh for the medium to longer term which will necessitate that our board are not complacent and must remain ahead of the SPFL pack. After all, their corporate packages, and international Kudos, relies on their winning the premiership. Will they do just enough? Probably. Will they overtly favour the govan side….not if they don’t want another rebellion.

  3. Well fair play to the scum cheerleaders?
Actually being more delusional than I gave the shitehawks credit for, now that takes some doing?
Annalise the decision making that our club made before and during the 10iar campaign?
And the only conclusion that can be reached, was an act of self sabotage by ourselves, just to keep the scum in business imo?
Only got away with such an act, due to our support been mainly blinded by the feat of the 10iar?
Easiest way to disrupt a well preforming and fairly content playing squad is throw the problems of huge players wages into the mix, especially after letting the likes of Gordon and Hayes leave after not offering them money they deservedly had warranted to be paid?
So simple enough to create such a situation, especially with a worldwide pandemic in place at the time also?
Sickening sight to see the celebrations and promotion of the survival lie, with handing the scum there only title victory?
But our support will never allow a situation to arise ever again?
But the response was crucial, for which the board managed, even if possibly more luck than judgement taken imo?
Regardless, we have more than moved on from the worst season ever endured, especially as now the scum are fairly irrelevant to ourselves?
And that possibly includes whether they stay in business or not nowadays imo?
The survival lie will be crushed finally this season for once and for all, when we overtake the 2 versions of the scum on offer?
Yet we should never allow our club to bail out such a shower of shite ever again?
Our ambitions don’t really involve the scum going forward, not that we ever needed the scum for anything to remain relevant?
The scum can hardly make such a claim, especially as we have dismantled everything they have mouthed about and the survival lie will be finally ended this season, especially when “A Proper 55” is achieved?

  4. Forget that the stadia were empty, empty from prying eyes, lest you forget not a red card was shown to their hammerthrowers as well as never a penalty came from any mason in the black.
Yes we blew it on our own, they however needed the MIB brethren for that touch of certainty.
The SMSM were so far up Gerrard’s arsehole they could’ve brushed his teeth!!!!
