Celtic this morning launched a new shirt of commemorate 120 years of those famous green and white Hoops. The majority of the supporters are all in agreement that the top is top notch, it’s a complete belter, and I’m in agreement, it’s top quality, one of the best of all time.

That of course begs the question, why wasn’t this the official kit for this season? It’s fair to say that the current home kit splits opinion. I’ve got to say, it’s still to really grow on me but it is getting there.

At £70 the new top is not cheap, and the club have been criticised for the amount of kits they have launched over the past year. It’s fair to say that the amount of kits being produced and the cost seems rather excessive, especially for parents, but that’s the modern world. Football is now a big business and the days of just two kits being launched every couple of years is long gone.

My view is you either buy it or you don’t, it’s that simple. If you like it and can afford it, why not? And I can see this one flying off the shelves. It is a magnificent top and adidas and Celtic will reap the financial rewards yet again.
