“It’s a very important victory”, Rangers manager reacts to 3-3 win over Celtic

Rangers manager Philippe Clement was buzzing at full-time after a late Rabbi Matondo equaliser to make it 3-3. The Belgian manager was celebrating enthusiastically with the Rangers supporters, beating his chest and taking in the support, who were buoyant.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Clement called it a moral victory for Rangers as he beamed about the result before finishing off saying that it was a “very important victory”.

Celtic opened the scoring within 21 seconds thanks to a goal from Daizen Maeda before Matt O’Riley made it 2-0 from the spot. Celtic had a number of other first half chances but Jack Butland made some smart saves. Rangers pulled a goal back through a controversial penalty from James Tavernier before a late Sima goal appeared to equalise the affair after 86 minutes. Celtic responded and went up the pitch and Adam Idah’s first Glasgow Derby goal sent Brendan’s side 3-2 up. The manager may regret not making a more defensive substitution as five minutes later, Matondo had pulled an equaliser back for the hosts.

  2. You couldnt write a script for this guy. He clearly likes talking shite. After the disasterous appointment that was Beale it seems that bullshitter is compulsory and high on the list of job qualifications for prospective the Rangers managerial candidates. Its little wonder their support think that 1 title equates to 55 and now a 3-3 draw is a victory?? Well done big Phil, what a guy!!!!!
