Holders Celtic will take on Highland league side Buckie Thistle in a battle of the greens at Celtic Park in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup, while theRangers have been denied their usual home cup-tie earner, unusually getting an away draw away to Dumbarton, who beat Annan Athletic 5-4 in the third round.

Buckie Thistle earned their glamorous trip to Paradise after drawing 2-2 away to Broxburn Athletic, with late goals  both the end of the 90 minutes then again at the end of extra-time to draw the Highlands level twice. That gave them first of all extra-time then a penalty shoot-out leading to their place into this evening’s draw.

Darryl McHardy scored the second Buckie eight minutes into time added on before Scott Peters took the tie to a penalty shoot-out with his goal two minutes into extra-time stoppages.

Buckie Thistle joy in reaching the Fourth Round of the Scottish Cup was intensified this evening with the draw for the fourth round giving them the ultimate dream tie, an away trip to Celtic Park to face the holders Celtic.

In the second round of this season’s Scottish Cup Buckie Thistle won 1-0 at Forres Mechanics and in the first round they were away to Tayport and won that one comfortably with a 4-0 victory.

The full draw for the Fourth Round of the Scottish Cup is as follows, with the ties to be played on the weekend of 20/21 January 2024.
