At least two first team ready players is a must. It’s what Rodgers needs and the support deserves…

Brendan Rodgers has been vocal in his desire to get in more quality to the side, and even more so after the cup defeat to Kilmarnock. It’s plainly obvious the team is in need of top quality fresh faces, and not just ‘project’ signings. We need players who are able go straight into the starting XI and will add quality and experience to this very young Celtic squad.

Brendan Rodgers needs to be backed in the last week of the transfer window

I would say three or four new faces are needed, although two at a minimum would suffice. Players who are of a proven quality and would get the supporters excited. There is no excuses, we have the funds and are well more than capable of bringing in new faces.

I have no doubts Brendan Rodgers was giving certain assurances regarding budgets. I don’t think he would’ve agreed to come back otherwise. Rodgers is an ambitious man after all, and doesn’t have to prove himself domestically, but Europe is a different story, and so far we aren’t equipped to compete on that front.

The injury list after only three games is horrific and growing almost on a daily basis. Since Friday morning we have lost two more central defenders with Steven Welsh being out for the rest of this year and Maik Nawrocki suffering a hamstring injury in the closing stages of the shocking performance at Rugby Park in the League Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Add the loss of Reo Hatate who lasted 25 minutes at Pittodrie before suffering a calf in jury and Cameron Carter-Vickers who looks like being out for a while and you get the picture. Brendan Rodgers does not have his troubles to seek.

There are only ten more days or so until the window closes shut, so time is of the essence. It’s time to get proven quality in. It’s what Rodgers needs and the supporters deserve. But no more back-slapping in the boardroom, project signings, the players we need are tried and tested quality performers with the quality needed to improve Celtic. Rodgers knows and understands that – he said so after the Rugby Park wake-up call.

Now it’s over to Michael Nicholson to support the manager and deliver in the last week of the transfer window.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
