Celtic go to Ibrox on Saturday as Scotland’s Champions, well it wasn’t in doubt, but it’s now official and our next game will be against our bitter rivals.

There’s been talk of a ‘Guard of Honour’ for the Champions. You can knock any notion of that on the head as our ‘dignified’ rivals won’t be having that. In their bitter minds our team aren’t worthy of a Guard of Honour in their cesspit. They would rather an audience with the Pope was held at Snake Mountain (and not Grayskull), okay maybe that’s a bit of a stretch!

It won’t happen and I for one couldn’t care less, and the overwhelming majority of Celtic supporters feel the same. I would never think of doing it for them and they are quite within their rights not to do so for us. This isn’t the half-and-half scarf land of the English Premier league, this is a proper rivalry. Plus we don’t need applauded by anyone other than our own supporters.

Although serial loser captain Tavernier might have something to say about it as he was quite vocal on the subject when theRangers were crowned championship winners at the second time of asking back in 2016. I think it was Hibs he tore a strip off calling then ‘unsporting’ for their failure to applaud the Ibrox side onto the park.

He of course commended Alloa Athletic on their sporting gesture when The Wasps did just that. Will he take his own advice and show his appreciation to the Celtic players? I doubt it, but I couldn’t care less.
