Jeremie Frimpong hasn’t featured for Celtic since he was stretchered off after receiving a hefty tackle from Kilmarnock’s Alan Power on 22 January. However, the injury wasn’t as bad as first feared, with Neil Lennon alluding to the fact that the young full-back would soon join rejoin the squad, having completed his rehabilitation, earlier this week.

The Daily Record reported that Frimpong was seen training with his teammates at Lennoxtown today, thus it appears the Dutch u20 international is set to make a timely comeback. Given that Celtic have European ties to negotiate, among domestic duty, the return of Frimpong will be most welcome for Neil Lennon, particularly since the manager has adopted a 3-5-2 shape with reliance on wing backs. Frimpong is a pacey, attacking style of full back, who fits the role perfectly. The defender was in superb form prior to the injury and has been a revelation since making the breakthrough at Celtic Park. He certainly has high hopes for the future and indeed the remainder of this season.
