Craig Burley was ordered off as Scotland lost 0-3 to Morocco in the final match of Group A in the World Cup finals in France on this day in 1998. The defeat left Scotland in bottom place in the four team mini-league – Brazil and Norway were the two other sides – with a record of P3 W0 D1 L2 F2 A6.

Brazil won the section and went all the way to the final before losing 0-3 to France.

On this day in 1994, Marcus Fraser was born. He joined Celtic Boys club when he was 8 and progressed through the youth ranks before signing a three –year contract in the summer of 2010. Over the next four years, Marcus played 6 times for the Scotland U-16 side, 16 times for the U-17s, 9 for the U-19s and 5 for the U-21s.

However, at Celtic Park, after making his debut against Rennes in the Europa League on 11 November 2011– when he came on at half-time and played in the centre of the defence – Marcus made his first and only first-team starting appearance against Inverness Caley Thistle on 9 February 2013.

In September, 1914, Marcus went to Cowdenbeath on loan; and was released by Celtic in January 2015, when he joined Ross County.
