Jonjoe Kenny could be available to Celtic on a cut-price deal according to a new report. The 23-year-old has made six appearances since arriving at the club in the January transfer window but the Merseyside paper The Liverpool Echo have said that with just a year remaining on his deal with Everton, Carlo Ancelotti may be willing to drop the price.

Everton are looking for an heir for club captain Seamus Coleman and it has been widely believed that club academy graduate Kenny would be the heir-apparent; however, Carlo Ancelotti appears to be looking elsewhere, leaving Kenny ready to depart the club in the summer.

The right-back slot is one in which Celtic are desperately needing cover with Frimpong leaving for Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £11.5m. Kenny is an exciting prospect and the club faced competition from Burnley to bring the player in during the January window. The Clarets were quoted £8m when they inquired about the former England U21 but that fee looks to have dropped as Everton look to get the player off the books.

Kenny has been a steady acquisition and has a decent pedigree. Celtic are unlikely to make any decisions on pursuing him until it is clearer who will be in charge of football operations or the first team.
