Celtic’s Jota looks to be nearing a £20m move to Al-Ittihad. The Superstar from Portugal looks to be the next name headed for Saudi Arabia, joining Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante at the Jeddah club.

The rumour was spotted this afternoon but well placed sourced Stephen McGowan of the Daily Mail detailed that the Saudis have put forward a bid in excess of £20m, which will rise with add-ons for Jota. The Scottish Champions are yet to accept the deal but it is reported that Jota has accepted personal terms.

Jota is one of Super Agent Jorge Mendes’ clients and it’s reported that he would get £10m per year, tax free from the move.

The 24-year-old has been sensational since arriving at Celtic, initially on loan from Benfica. However, it appears that he could be set to follow Ange Postecoglou out the Paradise door.

Since joining, Jota has made 83 appearances with 28 goals and 26 assists to his name. It is a highly impressive output from the young attacker and it is a shame that he may sacrifice some of his best years playing in the Saudi league when there is Champions League football on offer at Celtic, not to mention the adulation he receives from the supporters.
