The anxious wait to find out if Felipe Neves Jota has become a permanent feature at Celtic Park is one of the themes of this close season already. The transfer window doesn’t officially open until 10 June this year, but already the support are desperate to find out that their hero has signed full-time with the club.

Well, there could be a reason for the hold-up so far, as fresh from being on holiday in Ibiza with some of his Celtic teammates, an eagle eyed fan has spotted the Portuguese talent roaming the streets of New York! Yes, that’s right – Jota is in the Big Apple ladies and gentlemen.

Probably doing some sightseeing of his own, the winger with the fantastic hair is enjoying some downtime after a rather hectic and unforgiving schedule this season in the SPFL and Europe. It’s no surprise to see him taking full advantage of the most relaxed post-season calendar we’ve had in some years.

This could perhaps be why nothing has been announced by the club or the player himself. It may just be a case of everyone waiting to get their ducks-in-a row before launching the phenomenal news that Jota is a Celtic player now. There may be a train of thought at the club that thinks they should announce both Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers together for more effect.

For now though, at least his whereabouts is known to the supporters, so that they can assuage any fears of him escaping our clutches just yet. Everyone relax and enjoy the beautiful sunshine this evening!
