MIKE MCGRATH of the Daily Telegraph has claimed that Celtic are close to agreeing a deal to sign Aaron Hickey from Hearts. The Scottish Champions are in the market for a left back but appeared to have missed out on Hickey when Caught Offside revealed that European Champions Bayern Munich were close to signing him.
Hickey would be available for a fee in the region of £1.5m, which could be a decent investment in a player that has received interest from not only Munich but Lyon, Bologna and a number of English sides.

With Bolingoli set to leave the club this summer and Jonny Hayes leaving in June, there would be more opportunities for Hickey at Celtic Park than there would have been previously.
Whilst Liam Morrison and Barry Hepburn have been enticed to European moves, Hickey should prioritise his development and first team exposure that Celtic would allow. Hickey made 33 appearances in the Maroon of Hearts but could be swapping that for the Hoops of Celtic if a deal transpires.
