Journalist Mark Hendry has updated Celtic fans on the reported links with Sydney Van Hooijdonk. The Scottish Champions have been in the market for a striker to offer Kyogo competition.

Taking to Twitter/X, the Football Scotland journo said that Celtic were not keen on bringing in the 23-year-old.

Hendry says that the Celts were offered Van Hooijdonk but were not interested in signing the Dutch striker. The Bologna striker is keen on making the move away in the January window as he’s keen on getting game time up.

Celtic, meanwhile, fit into the transfer triangle in a peculiar way with SVH. The Scottish Champions are closing in on a deal to sign Adam Idah from Norwich City, who are engaged in talks with Bologna to sign Van Hooijdonk on a loan-to-buy deal.

Now, Brendan Rodgers side look set to add the Irish Internationalist to their ranks in the coming days. The club are looking to add quality and are targeting a couple more deals in the coming days.
