Kenny Miller and his peculiar Celtic and Rangers predictions

Former Rangers, Celtic and theRangers striker Kenny Miller recently gave us a few laughs when he tipped theRangers for the league title because in his words, he believes their summer signings are better than a ‘weakened’ Celtic side.

Firstly, yes Celtic have lost their manager Ange Postecoglou and one of our star players in Jota, also Aaron Mooy has sadly had to retire and Carl Starfelt looks like leaving shortly too.

But secondly we’ve replaced Ange with a quality and proven winner in Brendan Rodgers, and we’ve made up for the loss of two players by bringing in five new faces, not to mention getting the best striker in the country Kyogo to sign a contract extension. And Starfelt’s departure will signal another central defensive signing.

Five new faces that go into a squad who completed the clean sweep last season, with more to follow. The only thing that’s been weakened is the strength of Miller’s argument when you look at the reality. Best staying off those sun-beds Kenny.

Miller says the Celtic signings don’t excite him. Eh? He doesn’t even know them. Had he heard of Kyogo or Hatate? Come to think of it, has he heard of any of theRangers recent signings? One Celtic signing that certainly didn’t excite the Celtic support was Miller himself and it was a relief to everyone when he was shipped out having established beyond reasonable doubt that he was nowhere near good enough to wear the Hoops.

Remember when Ange Postecoglou first arrived and filled the first team with many new players? Not one pundit – Kenny Miller included – backed him to have a say in the title race. It was all about Stevie G and a settled title winning theRangers squad perhaps winning a treble. Funny that eh? How did it turn out again, Kenny?

“I know there are unknowns in there like Kwon, Yang,” Miller said, as reported by Football Scotland. “Similar to Kyogo and Maeda where you don’t actually know what they’re going to be bringing. Are they gonna impact that starting team? I’m not too sure. One thing I do know is I don’t think they’re as strong in their starting line up, they’ve lost Jota. He was one of the stars of the squad.

“At this moment in time it doesn’t look like he’s been replaced. Going back to Brendan Rodgers’ comments, Celtic fans can’t expect them to spend £15million on a replacement. But are expecting a recognised name to come in,” Miller said.

“When Moussa Dembele comes in 2016, he’s wanted by everyone in Europe. He’s a young player with huge potential and you can see how he’s playing. Scott Sinclair’s another one who comes, he’s played at some of the biggest clubs in England, you know what you’re getting.

“It’s not to say the Kwon’s and Yang’s are not going to be a success, but you can’t fully get excited behind the signing as much as you’d like to, because you don’t know.

“Some names you do know flop, of course they do. Recruitment is the toughest thing. But what Celtic and Michael Beale at a lesser extent, but they’ve earned the trust of their fans with the work they have done with the Kyogos and Maedas they’ve brought in.”

  1. How much codswallop can these ibrokes “people” speil?? As for Miller , well we know he is from the East, and takes the soup at ibrokes. And in one of this morning’s tabloids, one of their directors has come out and said that the middens from ibrokes will mix it with the big guns.!!! When oh when will these clowns learn to keep their mouths SHUT??!! They could not handle Killie at the week end, but come Wednesday, they are going too work wonders. AGAIN. AH well there is always next season, .!! Already!
    Tee hee hee.

  2. Kenny Miller is ambishiterous. He can produce shit from his arse and his mouth at the same time. His boosterism of the ibrox club is pathetic drivel.

  3. Jim O'Rourke on

Kenny Miller may talk crap and we know that he probably still has to convince some from the rangers that he’s as staunch as them even though he played for us but it has to be said he wasn’t a bad player for us and gave his all and scored some big goals including goals in the champions league.
