RANGERS thug Ryan Kent has been cited by the Scottish FA’s Compliance Officer Clare Whyte for his punch delivered to Scott Brown’s face after James Forrest scored a late winner in the controversial Glasgow Derby on Sunday.
The winger who is on loan from Liverpool, has been offered a two match ban but if he appeals this could be extended.
The incident was apparently missed by referee Bobby Madden, although there are photographs of the punch that has Madden looking straight at the unfolding incident.
If the suspension is contested, a disciplinary hearing will take place this Thursday.
Kent threw a punch at the Celtic captain as the teams prepared to restart following James Forrest’s 85th-minute wonderful winner against the self proclaimed best team in the league.
They have also claimed to be the most successful club in the world despite never having won a major honour.
The on-loan Liverpool reserves winger had earlier levelled for Rangers after Odsonne Edouard gave Celtic a first half lead.
In a bad-tempered clash, Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos was sent off for elbowing Scott Brown in the first-half, while left-back Andy Halliday was shown a second yellow after the final whistle.
Morelos later apologised for his fifth red card of the season, a world record there for the Bears, and he will miss four games as a result.
