We told you this morning that Hyeon-gyu Oh was waiting on news from South Korea’s new manager Jurgen Klinsmann to see if The Celtic striker would be included in the German’s first squad for his first two games in charge, both friendly matches against Colombia and Uruguay.

We can now confirm that the new Celtic signing has indeed received a call-up and while now travel to take part in the first international matches his country has played since participating in the World Cup in Qatar.

Oh has had some start to 2023, he got his transfer to top European side, won his first medal as a professional, in Celtic’s 2-1 League Cup Final triumph over theRangers and has scored goals for Celtic in both the Premiership and Scottish Cup as he eyes up two additional winners medals this season and beyond that the chance to play in the Champions League.

And his Celtic form has obviously not gone unnoticed by the new South Korean manager who as a top goalscorer himself will undoubtedly be in a great position to help Oh develop further while he is away with the international squad.
