Kwon move is best for all parties…
Kwon Hyeok-Kyu hasn’t had the best of times at Celtic since his move from South Korean side Busan I Park last summer. The South Korean followed Yang in moving to Scotland where they both joined up with fellow countryman OH in bid to make a name for themselves in European football.
Like Yang, Kwon has struggled to adapt to our game, although unlike winger Yang, central midfielder Kwon hasn’t had any game time of note. Kwon looks the part, he’s tall strong and athletic but hasn’t had the chance to show what he’s capable of. He’s been unfairly criticised by the supporters which is rather unfair when you consider we’ve rarely seen him in first team action.
Yesterday Kwon joined St Mirren on a loan deal until the end of the season, and that should be seen as good news for both club and player. Kwon will get the chance under a good manager in Stephen Robinson at a decent club in St Mirren. It will also give the South Korean a regular taste of Scottish football, and a chance to showcase his talents.
If Kwon performs well at the buddies it will give him great confidence when he returns to Celtic Park in the summer.

That along with the added experience of Scottish football will be a great bonus not only for Kwon, but Celtic also. It’s a sensible move all round.
