La Liga side make Arsenal approach for loan deal for Kieran Tierney

La Liga side Real Sociedad have reportedly made an approach to Arsenal about the availability of Kieran Tierney. Celtic had been listed as a potential destination for the Scotland Internationalist but it appears that Mikel Arteta is assessing his options with regards to his defence and particularly the 26-year-old.

According to Italian transfer journalist Matteo Moretto, the Basque side are keen on signing the former Celtic man.

The arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko has pushed Tierney down the pecking order at Arsenal. Even when the Ukrainian was unavailable, Tomiyasu was used as left back. This has limited Tierney’s opportunities but the arrival of Timber, who is a right-footed central defender, and his selection in the Community Shield suggests that Arteta isn’t keen on the defender.

Newcastle have also been mentioned as being interested in signing the 26-year-old with Eddie Howe keen to bolster his defensive options. Now, West Ham have also become an apparent option for KT.

Aston Villa have been linked with Tierney as the manager that signed him – Unai Emery – is now the manager at Villa Park. Celtic command a sell-on fee should Tierney move on after the £25m move in 2019. The defender made over 250 appearances for Celtic and the Scottish Champions will be alerted to developments in his future plans for the sell-on fee rather than to sign him.
