Nawrocki setback might force Brendan’s hand in starting CCV tomorrow, but will it be the right decision?

Maik Nawrocki has unfortunately been added to the injury list after pulling up with a knock in Sundays win at Fir Park. It’s unclear what the extent of his hamstring injury at this moment, but it was enough to stop him from training the last couple of days, so he will now miss tomorrow nights home clash against Dundee and almost certainly the game against Hearts this Sunday.

That likely means a return to the starting XI for Cameron Carter Vickers who appeared at Fir Park as a replacement for the unfortunate Nawrocki.

It’s great news to have Celtic’s Big Strong man back to bolster our backline, even in his half hour appearance at Fir Park you could see he added much more steel and assurance to our defence. But considering his previous of breaking down so soon after returning from the treatment table this campaign, is it wise to throw him back into the start tomorrow night? Especially with a tough game awaiting us away to Hearts.

We might not have a choice though as it’s unclear the current status of Stephen Welsh at this moment and Brendan’s ongoing reluctance to play Gustaf Lagerbielke. Tomoki Iwata could at a push also play there, but I think CCV will start alongside Liam Scales. let’s just hope he comes through it unscathed.

Fingers crossed.
