Still enjoying the glow from the Cup win on Sunday, but I hope it also served as a wee wake up call that theRangers are not as far in our wake as some would like…
Hopefully, we are back to our best over the next few games, especially for the trip to Ibrox on 2nd January 2025.
The Premier Sports Cup Final was a 4.30am kick off Monday morning so no venue in Auckland suitable for us to gather as a CSC. Instead, it was a case of watching at home.
I had been hoping for a nice clear-cut win within 90 minutes so I could get some more time in bed!
Instead it went all the way. I don’t usually fancy us with penalties, but I have got to say the kicks were all well struck. I also had a feeling Kasper would save one – He’s been a really good signing.
It was the 40th Anniversary of the NZCSC recently and a couple of weeks ago we had a wee celebration function at Auckland Irish Club.
Attached are some photos from the night which I thought may be of interest to The Celtic Star readers.
As you see one of our fold now is Jonathon Gould who is working as goalkeeping coach with the newly formed Auckland FC. They have started their first season well having won five and drawn one of their opening games and are top of the A League.
Jonathon is staying not far from Irish Club so handy for a cheap pint!
