Leicester City have announced that Ricardo Pereira has signed a new deal until the summer of 2026. The Portuguese right-back was approaching the end of his deal this summer but Brendan Rodgers has managed to convince the 28-year-old to sign a new deal at the King Power Stadium, ending suggestions that Celtic’s Josip Juranovic could be getting lined up to replace him at the Premier League club.

Juranovic signed from Legia Warsaw
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said that Leicester were keen on Juranovic, suggesting that Brendan Rodgers was in attendance for the win over Dundee United last month. It was later revealed that Rodgers was there as a guest of Celtic to honour Wim Jansen, who passed away a few days earlier.

Leicester City are exploring the possibility of taking Josip Juranovic to the Premier League with Brendan Rodgers recently making the trip to Glasgow casting his eye over him.

The rumour always appeared unlikely but this announcement will surely put it to bed as Juranovic and Celtic focus on bouncing back from their Bodo/Glimt defeat against Dundee on Sunday.
Juranovic has made the right-back position his own after beating off competition from Tony Ralston. The Croatian Internationalist provides solidity at the back as well as the prowess in attack to make him a real threat. In his 27 appearances since signing from the Polish Champions, he has scored twice and assisted once.
