Scotland can take another step towards qualification for Euro 2024 with a win over Cyprus in Larnaca this evening. Achieving back to back euros would be quite a feat for Steve Clark’s men. I always support my nation and tonight will be no different and I’m bursting for them to get a result especially our for our own Callum McGregor.

Callum has been inspirational for us and Scotland, although somehow he never always gets the credit he’s due at international level in the mainstream media in Scotland. You have to wonder why?

But as we know Callum is a superb player and if you took him out of the Scotland side you’d definitely notice a big difference, and not for the better. That’s the highest compliment you can pay to the Celtic captain.

Callum is now 30 and won’t get the chance to play in any more major international tournaments. This one if we should qualify could be his last and he’ll be itching to prove himself in Germany.

He did of course play in the last tournament although it ended in disappointment as we failed to qualify from the group. Although Callum was the only player to score for the country in the 3-1 defeat to that very good Croatia side.

Callum has the chance to make history with Scotland and become part of a side that makes it out of the group stages at a major international tournament for the first ever time.

When you think of the great players of the past who haven’t sampled that feeling at international level it would be quite a feat. Here’s to Scotland and Callum McGregor, let tonight be the start of something special. Mon the Scotland. Mon Calmac.
