“Lick our wounds but then get our heads up,” Tommy Sheridan’s message to the Celtic support

TOMMY SHERIDAN dropped up a note to give his immediate reaction to the hugely disappointing 2-1 Champions League qualifying defeat to Hungarian Champions Ferencvaros at Celtic Park.

“We are all hurting guys. We are gutted,” Tommy stated.

“Eddy being unavailable was a major blow. Ajeti is no where near fit and Patrick would have been a gamble but on the night we had 70% possession, 28 shots, 9 on target. We are 6 inches from going ahead and were dominant.

“They had two efforts on goal. At Champions League level keeping clean sheets is essential,” Tommy noted.

“I was actually disappointed with the big keeper for both goals but on the park being unable to turn 70% possession and 28 shots into 2 or 3 goals comes down to the very well paid players on the park.

“Who should have been dropped for Paddy for instance? Maybe Forrest, but he scored 5 goals in Europe last season.

“It’s a bad night and result. Absolutely. No hiding from it.

“Lenny should have freshened up at 65 mins in my opinion but given the circumstances I’m not sure I would have played a different 11.

“Lick our wounds but then get our heads up and chest out. We are Celtic supporters. We don’t give up. Never,” Tommy concluded.
