Liel Abada can smash the record-breaking transfer fee that Celtic received for Jota.
The little Israeli is a top-tier talent and has proven himself a classy operator since his move from Maccabi Petah Tikva in his homeland back in 2021. At just £3.5 million, Abada has been worth his weight in goals – literally.
He has a wonderful instinct for finishing and his elusive movement in and around the opposition penalty area is an excellent weapon to have in our arsenal. The news that the diminutive forward will be staying at Celtic Park for the foreseeable to work with Brendan Rodgers is a real boost to the club heading into next season.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Liel.
Abada definitely has elements of his game that he has to improve upon; mainly being more consistent in his performances and his crossing of the ball at times. However, it cannot be denied that this lad is destined for the elite in the game and working with the Irishman could shoot him into that stratosphere.
Another contract extension would be great news to hear from Parkhead and it could be just around the corner after Brendan Rodgers revealed he wants to stay. It would also safeguard the potential future value of the Israeli and provide Celtic with that security that is needed in modern football. There’s no doubt that currently, the Hoops should be looking for far more than the £10 million fee touted in the mainstream media. That would be a steal for whoever signed Liel and would leave a considerable void in our squad of players.

After losing Portuguese winger Jota to the Saudi Pro League and Al-Ittihad, the team has already had a significant dent in a creative aspect. Losing Liel too would have been a really tough one to take. The news though that he wants to stay and improve with the Irishman is music to the ears and keeps the atmosphere buoyant around the club. If all goes to plan, and Liel has the season we all know he can under Rodgers, we could be looking at breaking that recent £27 million transfer fee again in the near future.
