After we reported on Tiree Burchill, Sydney Cummings and Imane Addi leaving Celtic FC Women earlier today, the club have confirmed the departure of another player. Lisa Robertson will leave after four hugely successful years in the Hoops.
Joining in 2020, Robertson joined with lots of experience having won lots of silverware with Hibs and the treble with Glasgow City. She helped the Ghirls secure Champions League qualification in her first season before spending some time on loan at Birmingham City. Her time at Celtic and Birmingham secured her a place in the Scotland squad and she has featured eight times for her country.
She featured seven times for Celtic in 2022/23 and made four appearances last campaign. During this time, she delivered a baby and still returned to top-flight football shortly after, earning top praise from the head coach.
Whatever club she ends up at next will surely appreciate the fantastic player that she is and although it’s sad to see her go from Celtic, we wish her nothing but the best.
Good luck in the future Lisa! YNWA.
