Liverpool are willing to listen to offers for central defender Ben Davies, just six months after nicking the player from Celtic’s grasp. It now looks like the former Preston North End centre half is destined never to play for the Anfield club who instead are set to make a profit on the transfer deal to help fund other transfer window business.

Numerous clubs are credited with an interest in Davies with Championship sides Sheffield United and Bournemouth rivalling Celtic.

Davies was very close indeed to putting pen to paper on a pre-contract agreement to join Celtic this summer back in January before a defensive injury crisis forced Jurgen Klopp to make his last minute move for the player, much to Celtic’s frustration.

Now though it could be second time lucky as far as signing Davies goes but much will depend on where the players sees himself playing his football. Much has changed at Celtic since January but with both high profile Premier League players Joe Hart and James McCarthy signing for the club this week, Davies might just fancy making it a case of better late than never as far as playing for Celtic is concerned.
