Loan move can work if player is good enough

Loan deals will do, if they are for better players than what we currently have…

Celtic has been linked with bringing players to the club in the January transfer window and it’s certainly something we need to do if we are to improve our squad, and do all we can to ensue that we retain our title.

The January window though is notoriously difficult for getting the targets you want, but that doesn’t mean we can’t explore other options through the loan market. It’s not ideal, but going down the loan route can help get true quality in the door and if that’s only for a few months then so be it.

And by quality I mean players who are better than we currently have. Remember when we enticed big names such as Robbie Keane and Craig Bellamy to the club? Yes two big names and class acts who of course went straight into the side and made their mark instantly.

We should be looking to pull off another few signings of that ilk even if it’s only temporary. It would be much better than splashing out on the usual ‘projects’ that we so often get lumbered with. While it might not be ideal going for the loan option, it could benefit us greatly in the long run.

And a loan signing alongside a few permanent deals for quality and experienced players could be enough to ensure that trophy day is at Parkhead (as the Zombie-club called it earlier this week).

  1. Not interested in another teams cadt offs.
These players are not playing for a purpose.
Do we want inferior players, NO we have done that previously with Philips, Duffy etc.
Project players are there to learn, we just went silly with the amount to develop.
Players who have been properly scouted, those with pace, skill, height, guts, winners who fit the team are welcome.
    Anything less is failure.
