Man City v Celtic: team news, KO time & where to watch

Celtic face Manchester City in their second game of the pre-season tour of the USA. The Scottish Champions face the English Champions at Chapel Hill in North Carolina. Brendan Rodgers’ side were 4-0 winners against MLS side DC United on Sunday and they’ll be looking to test their Champions League credentials against the Premier League side.

The teams last met in the UEFA Champions League during both Brendan and Pep Guardiola’s first seasons in charge. The two games couldn’t bring about a winner with a 3-3 draw at Celtic Park being followed by a 1-1 stalemate down in Manchester.

Team News

Kasper Schmeichel is expected to be involved after signing as the club’s new No.1 with Sinsalo deputising. You would expect that the pair would share the game time as Brendan looks to get his team in the best possible state for the beginning of the season.

A number of first team players came into the squad for the game against DC United. Daizen Maeda will likely be involved at some stage, as will skipper Callum McGregor. As he has in the rest of the pre-season games, the manager will look to mix the team with youth and experience as he tries to prep his squad as best as possible.

Kick Off Time

The game begins at 00:30 (Celtic Park Time).

Where to Watch

The game will be shown on Celtic TV to subscribers to the club’s in-house media provider with coverage starting at 00:15.

  1. The next 2 games of pre season, especially against Chelsea, who should have an even stronger squad than city?
Should be very telling for Rodgers in his preparations for the season ahead and upon making squad decisions also imo?
Completely different tests to what we are used to in general?
Especially with how we do without the football?
Even with the football we have shown plenty of good attacking play to date, but expect Rodgers wanting ourselves to be more clinical with less scoring opportunities on offer imo?
Looking forward to these 2 games, especially with seeing how our younger players can deal with the challenges they are going to be facing?
For a fair few, would still require some big performances to get themselves a place within our squad for next season all the same imo?
Should be very interesting to see how they do get on, even if the result is irrelevant?

I feel we as fans need to start bombarding the club with emails, official Facebook pages and x accounts to DEMAND they start backing our manager. These dinosaurs have no idea how to bring our club into today’s changing football landscapes. Peter lawell has been feeding us the same old shit transfer window after transfer window. We went for this player, that player. Couldn’t get them, priced out of them. Total bullshit and our fans don’t want to see it. Sorry, our board apologists don’t want to see it. All they are interested n is having millions in the bank. Get them out
