Marathon Man Matt’s Hail Hail in New York, New York

WELL DONE to The Celtic Star’s very own Matt Corr who yesterday completed the New York Marathon. Matt was running to raise funds for The Celtic FC Foundation and of course ran the iconic 26 miles course wearing the famous green and white Hoops.

Matt has provided us with some brilliant features, notably his European diaries on the away trips to Athens, Salzburg and Leipzig. They are all well worth checking out. However it’s in New York where he got his first away day result of the season for Celtic – raising money for the Foundation.

Matt has also written about Celtic in the early 1980s on The Celtic Star, and those stories bring back some great memories. That Celtic team that Billy McNeill put together in his first spell as manager was particularly pleasing on the eye.

Matt also works as Tour Guide at Celtic Park so if you are on the tour you can have a chat with him about his success running the New York marathon.

Great work Matt!
