Match Update – Celtic and Queen’s Park level after 25 mins

Celtic are ahead within five minutes at the City Stadium thanks to a goal from Kyogo. However, Queen’s Park have pulled themselves level in an entertaining opening pre-season match.

The Japanese striker collected a good pass from Stephen Welsh from defence, allowing the attacker to turn and run at the back four. As Kyogo looked to slip Odin Thiago Holm through, the frontman failed to connect with the Charlie Fox slipped allowing the talisman to cooly net.

Callum Davidson’s side drew level after Stephen Welsh’s header fell into the midfield as Paton collected on his chest before launching a tidy finish into Bain’s left-hand corner.

Then, Dom Thomas made it 2-1 after taking the ball in the middle before outmuscling Holm which allowed him to curl an effort beyond the Celtic goalkeeper.

The Scottish Champions responded quickly in a move from right to left with Mikey Johnston hitting the line before sending a cross in for Yuki Kobayashi. The makeshift left back arrived with a cultured finish, which appeared to deflect off Kyogo on the way through.

Celtic XI: Bain; Tomoki, Welsh, Murray, Kobayashi; O’Riley (C), Lawal, Holm; Johnston, Kyogo, Yang.

Subs: Siegrist, Oluwayemi, Clarke, Oh, Kwon, Frame, Agbaire, Robertson, Dede, Ure, Donovan, Hatton & Turley.

Hopefully we will see Celtic get back into the lead in the shadows of the National Stadium.
