Celtic are close to announcing the signing of Adam Idah, according to BBC Scotland’s Jane Lewis.
Monday afternoon brought talk of a breakthrough over a £7m deal and a number of reporters commented on the fact that talks had been held over the weekend.
Now, Lewis has taken to Twitter/X to state that Celtic have agreed a deal to sign Idah that will be subject to the player completing his medical.
It looked as if a deal was further away than fans would’ve liked after Idah was subbed on in Norwich’s 2-0 opening day defeat to newly promoted Oxford Town. However, it appears that the announcement is nearing that Idah will be a Celtic player once again.
Celtic have been keen on a deal and conversations have been ongoing for some time. Norwich have likely been keen to assess their options, which have slowed the progress for any deal from Celtic’s point of view. Although, it was always clear that Brendan wanted the player in as a matter of urgency.
Idah impressed in 19 games on loan, scoring 9 goals and assisting twice as Brendan Rodgers’ side won the Scottish Cup and the Premiership. It was the Ireland Internationalist that netted the winner at Hampden back in May and he’ll be looking to reunite with his teammates at Paradise.
