Mocking ‘Dembele Dollars’ but Big Moussa has the last laugh

The ‘Dembele dollars’ theory long held by theRangers supporters is baffling to say the least.

Their fans for many a year have been fond of using the term ‘Dembele Dollars’.

It’s of course aimed at former thorn in their side Moussa Dembele. It’s regularly suggested by the deluded bears that Moussa’s worth was rather exaggerated.

Firstly Moussa was and still is a class act. We don’t need our friends in the media to dream up false bids for our players.

Secondly Moussa would eventually leave the club for a bumper £20 million when he joined Lyon in 2018. a Scottish record at the time and still the fourth record outgoing.

So why the need for the mocking term? Surely mocking a guy who took your side to the sword on numerous occasions winning multiple honours and left for a record transfer fee is a bit strange? Well it is the Rangers supporters, so maybe that explains it.

It’s akin to them saying that Moussa’s new side AI- Ettifaq are a bit skint. Moussa was a great talent who was successful in our game. He didn’t let his contract run down, get fat and leave on a free unable to find a club, now that would be worth mocking.

  1. Heed the breed on

    I actually coined the term.
What I was trying to put across was as with the sevco it’s all smoke and mirrors saying this player’s worth that and that Alfie was worth a hundred billion when it’s all lies.
I was trying to be hip hop by copying Diddy and missy elliot all about the Benjamin’s.
Like we’ve got the real deal no pipe dreams we’ve got dembele dollars.
