Mohanad Jeahze to Celtic latest – “Players like Jeahze don’t grow on trees here in Sweden”

Sky Sports Scottish journalist Anthony Joseph has added to this evening’s transfer speculation concerning Celtic closing in on a £2m deal with Hammarby to make Iraqi International left-back Mohanad Jeahze the first summer signing and to continue Ange Postecoglou preference for getting his transfer business done very early in the transfer window.

Scottish Sun reported earlier this evening that there had been significant progress in this deal for a player regarded as the best left back in Sweden and noted that Mohanad Jeahze has indicated that he wants a move to the Scottish Champions (elect).

Several Swedish media outlets are reporting on this news although there is always caution required as they may simply be picking this breaking news from the Scottish Sun, which although reading like the deal is close, is nevertheless weak on actual substance.

Anthony Joseph’s report reads like this:

Celtic are in advanced talks with Hammarby over a deal to sign left-back Mohanad Jeahze.

It’s understood the 25-year-old Iraq international told the Swedish club he wants to move to Scotland.

A deal in the region of £2m is on the table & talks have progressed quickly today.

The popular Celtic social media account Everything Celtic spoke this evening to Alternativ_Hammarby about the player.

Mohanad Jeahze. We spoke with @AlternativH to find out about rumoured incoming Celtic left-back Mohanad Jeahze – here’s what they had to say…

“He’s good, too good for the Allsvenskan. He’s offensive, creates a lot of chances and comes up with assists.”

“Jeahze is left footed, defensively maybe he’s not the best but for an attacking team that wants an energetically left-back he’ll improve them. I think he’ll fit in perfectly at Celtic.

“I’ll be bummed if rumours are true, he’s a good player, a good person & has an elite mentality. He’s one of our most important players.”

“Players like Jeahze don’t grow on trees here in Sweden.”
