The absence of the Green Brigade was pretty evident last night and supporters were quick to vent their fury on social media. The Green Brigade apparently don’t do testimonials and friendlies and that’s completely their choice. They also apparently bought their tickets so they did indeed contribute to the game without actually being present.
Yes they make the place more colourful and atmospheric, but there was still a healthy crowd inside paradise regardless and they made it a decent atmosphere also. A total non-story about the Green Brigade is a kick in the teeth to those supporters who turned up and superbly backed James forrest and the team. I wonder how many of those online critics actually turned up last night?
Supporters who are critical of the absence of the Green Brigade being absent are of course entitled to their opinion, but that doesn’t mean they are right.
The game itself was a terrific spectacle and a great way to pay tribute to James forrest. It was his night no one else’s. Making it about the Green brigade is doing no one any favours.
Anyway the Green Brigade will be back on Saturday to back the side with colour and passion as they do so often. The uproar over their no show last night was a mountain out of a molehill if you ask me.
Here’s Celtic’s Unique Angle for the Green Brigade and others not at the game to enjoy!
Just an Ordinary Bhoy
Green brigade are an embarrasment to majority of supporters and their pathetic and petty little stunt last night shows why. They need to learn they are not representative of the majority of Celtic supporters, they are a bunch of noisy neds thats all, nobody at the game last night missed them, we were there to see Celtic not the green brigade! It’s our club, our stadium our team not the green brigade’s, so they should do us all a favour and just grow up or stay away for good!
The Green Brigade at a total embarrassment to Celtic,as an Irishman living in west Belfast for over 50 years they remind me more off Rangers fans than the proper faithful through and through brigade we have always been,
WE NEVER HAD ULTRAS BEFORE AND SHOULD GO BACK TO THAT!
Our club should eradicate the whole lot of these bigots once and for alll
I couldn’t help noticing in that video the body language of Hatate. He didn’t celebrate his goal, nor did his team mates come to congratulate him. He also failed to join in the celebrations of the other 2 Celtic goals. Taken together with the uncharacteristic mistakes he made in the opening quarter of the game last night, as well as his less-than-enthusiastic performances in other pre-season games, it’s clear he’s not happy about something. I’ll be surprised if he’s still a Celtic player when the window closes at the end of the month. I suspect his head has been turned and he now sees himself at a bigger (or richer) club. If so, then my message to him is to keep up his normal standards or he might frighten away potential suitors.
