Nat Phillips will likely return to Liverpool in January when his loan deal expires with Celtic. Jurgen Klopp’s defensive options were limited as Joel Matip was ruled out with an ACL injury. The Irishman has utilised Phillips as his third defender behind Cameron Carter-Vickers and Liam Scales. With Maik Nawrocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke struggling to be involved in match day squads, Phillips departure would hopefully improve their efforts in training as they look to get into the first team.
