Celtic legend Neil Lennon has emerged as a favourite to takeover from Jim Goodwin at Aberdeen, according to a report. The Dons were thrashed 5-0 by Hearts at Tynecastle on Wednesday night heaping pressure on Goodwin.
According to The Sun‘s bookie pals, Lennon and his former Celtic teammate Paul Lambert are amongst the leading contenders should Dave Cormack decide to wield the axe once again at Pittodrie. Another name mentioned is ex-Hibs manager Jack Ross.
Lennon has been out of work since last year having left Omonia in Cyprus. However, Lenny will perhaps be waiting until a potential vacancy opens up at Easter Road with Lee Johnson also under pressure.
Lennon won ten titles with Celtic, eight Scottish Cups and three league cups in two spells as manager and as a player. He will always be a Celtic legend but it was clear that his time as manager was up. Lennon will be recognised for all that he has done for the club but it may take some time as the 2020/21 season was incredibly tough for everyone involved.
