NEIL LENNON has given an update on Celtic’s transfer business as the manager previewed his side’s trip to face Dundee United on Saturday evening. Speaking at the media conference, Lennon was as coy as ever on the club’s incomings but he said that Griffiths would not be going anywhere and that there had been no offer for Rogic.

“The works in progress. Nick’s made a few enquires, he’s got a lot of contacts in the game we just have to be patient.

“We are looking to bring a few players in but nothing new at the moment.”

Earlier in the week it was reported by the Daily Mail that Tom Rogic was set to leave Celtic for an unnamed Qatar club; however, Lennon said that it was just interest and nothing more than that at this stage.

“A club expressed an interest but there’s nothing more than that.”

“No further enquiries have been made since then so hopefully we get something resolved. I like Tom Rogic, he’s a fantastic player and I’d like to have him around.”

Hopefully Rogic stays as he is a top player on his day and in this season of seasons, he is someone that can turn one point into three. Griffiths meanwhile has been another player linked with the door after a summer of discontent but Lennon poured cold water on that theory.

“No, I’ve seen that mooted in the rumour mill but there is nothing in that at all.”

Celtic have only signed three players this summer whilst eight departed. Albian Ajeti and Vasilias Barkas joined the club for a combined total above £9m whist Moi Elyounoussi returned on loan.

Celtic will need to get a central defender as well as a left back in the building should they wish to compete on all fronts. With that said, the ever reliable Nir Bitton at centre half works as an option in a three man defence although an enforcer is still needed to bolster the back line.
