Neil Lennon joined Ally McCoist on talkSPORT radio this morning and the former Celtic manager reckons that Ange Postecoglou will be looking at strengthening his squad further in the summer with an eye to making progress on the Champions league.
And Lennon reckons that a few players could be leaving in the summer with a comment thrown in suggesting that there will be a book balancing situation, implying that new arrivals will be funded by sales. Surely not?
McCoist asked Lennon if he reckons that Ange Postecoglou will be looking to bolster his squad in the summer. “Oh yeah. I think he’ll look to strengthen the squad,” Lennon replied. “I think there will be a few leaving. I think they’ll again sort of balance the books that way.

“If he does get over the line with the Treble which would be a great success for him, you’ve got to look at participating strongly in the Champions League. I think he will want to do that. They have got a good nucleus of a squad but you’ve seen the results in the Champions League this year, they were a little bit short.
“I think they want to add a bit of physicality and a bit of quality to that,” with Lennon predicting
exciting times going into next season.
There’s certainly a number of players, either currently at the club or out on loan who could be deemed surplus to requirements by the Celtic manager. But whether he’d be prepared to shift some of his first team regulars is another matter, although in football money always talks.
