With Crawford Allan handing in his resignation before he was pushed the hunt will now begin for his successor. Let’s hope the powers that be see sense and look outwith our backward little country in the search for any possible candidates.

It would be a refreshing approach to our game to have someone who wouldn’t let their bias get in the way of doing their job. The same goes for the match officials. Let’s get in some overseas based referees for certain vital fixtures. It’s an approach that happens in certain football leagues in world football, and it’s time for us to adopted a similar strategy.

Our referees are at an all time low standard, and with bias also playing a part in their decisions it’s time for them to step aside from taking charge of games with so much pressure riding on the outcome.

It’s not ‘paranoia’ to hold such an opinion. It’s well known that the overwhelming majority of our referees have leanings towards the club who play out of Ibrox. A small percentage also have leanings towards Celtic so it makes sense to take them all out of the firing line.

You just have to look at the stats involving theRangers in Europe. They get judged more impartially on the continent than they do at home.

That’s the way it should be, and having unbiased impartial officials is a step forward in achieving fairness in our game. Yes there will still be mistakes, but at least you will know they will be of the true ‘honest’ variety.
