No Celtic return as Tash Flint signs for Tampa Bay Sun FC

“Excited For The New Journey,” Tash Flint has just tweeted after confirmation of her move to the States, having signed for Tampa Bay Sun FC.

“Welcome to the Tampa Bay Sun FC family, Tash Flint. This English goal machine brings a winning mentality and a tactical instinct to the pitch,” her new club tweeted.

Tash spent a second loan spell at Celtic in the second half of consecutive seasons where she won a Scottish Cup winners medal in May 2023 and a SWPL1 title winning medal in May 2024. On both occasions
‘The Goal Machine’ left Celtic as a winner and with supporters each time hoping that a deal could be done to bring her to Celtic on a permanent deal.

Last season her brilliant form for Celtic attracted the attention of Liverpool but game-time was hard to come by for the powerful goalscorer and a return ‘home’ to Celtic suited all parties as the one year contract at Liverpool ran its course.

The Celtic Star asked Elena Sadiku a few times about Flint’s future and the manager always referred the question towards the player, suggesting strongly that the Celtic offer was there but Tash has opted for a year or two in the Florida sunshine, rather than playing through the winter at Airdrie’s Excelsior stadium. Who can blame her?

Elena also told us that she had players lined up for the summer as she looks to make her own mark o the Celtic squad. It’s clear that the number of quality players needed for Celtic FC Women to progress with the Champions League in mind will be around half a dozen.

Hopefully Elena Sadiku will get the necessary backing this summer to build on her brilliant start as manager which saw her deliver the title and break theRangers hearts.

Best of luck to the goal machine on her new journey. YNWA Tash.

Sorry but good. For me,not a team player. Her reaction when scoring wasn’t to thank teammates or celebrate with them, she would immediately make the love you sign to her partner.Carrying too much timber and very awkward movement athletically.Hope Elena has her sights on a real good un…..

Rob I’m with you all the way on “Tash” , for the amount of possession Celtic have outwith Rangers her Goals and assists tally plus her work rate just not good enough . 2 players would make a big difference to this team….a good offensive midfielder and a upgrade of Tash big time. We have some great players but we are not “Barca” so the spine of the team has to have “Leaders” .🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪
