YESTERDAY The Herald reported that Emilio Izaguirre could play a vital part in bringing Alberth Elis to Celtic Park by recommending him to the Celtic hierarchy.
Earlier this month, Elis admitted that he had spoken to Izaguirre about recommending him to the Scottish Champions. However, a source close to Izaguirre has said that the left-back has NOT spoken to anyone at Celtic.

With 42-caps to his name, Elis would have no trouble getting a visa in order to sign for Celtic and as the club had reportedly offered £3million from him previously, he would be a steal with his deal expiring this year. In 110 career appearances, Elis has 34 goals and 25 assists which is a very good return for a winger.

Izaguirre spent eight years at Celtic Park through two spells and was adored by fans with passionate, energetic and dedicated performances down the left side of defence.

Whether there is interest in Elis from Celtic remains to be seen, as does the role of Izaguirre in helping his International teammate move to Scotland. Although as it stands, Izzy is yet to have been in touch with Celtic about a move.
