Adam Idah was absent for Norwich City’s Caraboa Cup clash against Stevenage. The 23-year-old is reportedly nearing a move to Celtic and the update from Norwich suggests an announcement is imminent.

The Irishman had come off the bench in the Canaries’ opening day defeat to Oxford Town. However, his absence from the squad comes as the striker is believed to be undergoing a medical ahead of a move to Celtic.

The news broke last night that an £8.5m deal was agreed between sides, along with add-ons of £1m and a 15% sell on. Idah will look to complete a medical before penning a five year contract with Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Idah scored nine goals and assisted twice during nineteen appearances in the second half of last season, helping Brendan and his team to the Premiership title and Scottish Cup. Indeed it was Idah’s 90th minute strike that secured the trophy at the showpiece final at Hampden.
