Celtic’s French forward Odsonne Edouard is rumoured to be on Crystal Palace’s radar, with the Premier League club thought to be weighing up a move for the striker, which would see him link up with his compatriot Patrick Viera.

The speculation stems from an article in the Guardian, which claims that the Eagles are considering making formal approaches for the player, as they step up their attempts to reinforce the squad before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.

Palace have reportedly narrowed down their shortlist to Arsenal’s England Under-21 forward Eddie Nketiah, who is likely to cost approximately £12m, and Edouard who can likely be attained for a further £3m.

Viera’s men may have to move fast if they opt to go for the Celtic attacker, as it is understood that Palace are one of three Premier League clubs who have registered their interest (alongside Brighton and Everton), though none of the trio have submitted a formal bid.

It is unclear as to where the player would prefer to go, but he does have a connection with Crystal Palace having played under the South London club’s new development coach Saïd Aïgoun in Paris Saint-Germain’s youth sides. Meanwhile, Rubin Kazan and Bordeaux are also believed to be offering an alternative destination abroad.
