ODSONNE EDOUARD was the star of the show as a five-star Celtic started the league campaign with a 5-1 win over Hamilton Accies. Earlier this week, ex-Celtic striker Frank McAvennie told the Daily Record that the Frenchman didn’t look interested during the pre-season friendlies. Edouard hit back on the pitch with a hat-trick in the win today but took to Twitter this evening to prove that he has heard the criticisms of him but will do his talking on the park.
Edouard doesn’t seem interested … 🗣 . ⚽️⚽️⚽️

McAvennie appears to be getting more involved in the media discussing the club and his latest outburst appears to be ill advised as Edouard proved today. It is an easy target to call Edouard and Ntcham surly or uninterested but there was no such condemnation of Griffiths for coming back unfit.
Last season, Edouard scored 28 goals and he was on track to hit 35 plus before the Coronavirus pandemic shut down the Scottish game. Today, Edouard started where he left off with an excellent hat trick, two of which coming in the second half in quick succession.
Hopefully now Edouard can sign a new deal and fend off interest in him as the club look to win an unprecedented 10IAR. The talisman is essential should we want to win this holy grail of Scottish football and despite links to Leicester City and Arsenal, the club can ill afford to lose a player of his calibre.
