Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard has not been included in the French Olympic Team for the forthcoming Tokyo Games. Sylvain Ripoll has selected a number of U23 players with some seasoned pros but Edouard was not included in the squad, likely as he will be involved in Champions League qualifiers with Celtic or sealing a move elsewhere.

The player has been linked with moves away from the club this summer and the support appear to be resigned to the fact that the Frenchman will depart. Leicester City had been suggested but the talks broke down, leaving the player in the lurch as to where he will end up.
With 55 league goals in three seasons, Edouard has proven himself to be an excellent operator and his goals will be hard to replace but potentially letting him go for free may make sense. If Celtic win the league next year, there is automatic Champions League qualification, meaning that the club could make an enormous amount but Ange Postecoglou will need the best players at his disposal to do so.
