Oh set for £4.2m exit as player travels for medical

Belgian side Genk are reportedly set to sign Oh for a fee of £4.2m. The Scottish Champions appear to be preparing for life without the striker with the fee and personal terms appearing to be acceptable to parties. You would imagine that this update means that Adam Idah’s proposed transfer is going through imminently.

According to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, the South Korean forward has travelled to Belgium to complete a medical ahead of a move.

Oh scored and set one up in the 6-4 win against Queen’s Park on Wednesday but the report states he was absent from training on Friday.

Since arriving at the club in January 2023 for around £2m, Oh has scored 12 goals in 47 appearances for Celtic. It was clear that Brendan didn’t fancy him long term and the arrival of Idah on loan showed an insight into the manager’s thinking.

Celtic have reportedly tabled a £6m offer for the Irishman, which has been deemed acceptable due to the player’s stance on the move. It has been reported by Record Sport that the player would be heading to Glasgow to complete a medical before agreeing personal terms.

Celtic will likely do a fair bit of business this window both in terms of incomings and outgoings. Sead Haksabanovic what’s already been sold to Swedish side Malmo and Rocco Vata was allowed to leave to Watford after failing to agree a new deal.
