The Celtic Legends defeated their Manchester United equivalents at Old Trafford yesterday, winning a penalty shoot-out by 5-4, after an entertaining match ended honours even with a 1-1 draw.

There was as you would expect a huge travelling Celtic support of around 4000 inside the Theatre of Dreams and they certainly made themselves heard throughout the proceedings.

Wayne Rooney gave United the lead shortly before the interval with a trademark free kick while Gary Hooper got the Celtic equaliser with just over an hour on the clock.

The Celtic team was as follows: Boruc, Wilson, Mulgrew, McManus, Lustig, Hayes, Ledley, Petrov, Samaras, Vennegoor of Hesselink, Hooper. Subs: Zaluska, Ambrose, Donnelly, Robson, O’Dea

The Man Utd team was as follows: van der Gouw, Bardsley, Johnsen, Siverstre, Simpson, Carrick, Djemba-Djemba, Fletcher, Valencia, Berbatov, Rooney
Subs: Lindegaard, Pilkington, Butt, Pugh, Chadwick, Scholes, Webber, Eagles, Campbell
